HID, a leading provider in trusted identity solutions, has announced an agreement to acquire 3millID Corporation and Third Millennium Systems Ltd. This acquisition will enhance HID’s physical access control portfolio by adding new readers and credentials, further expanding its presence in complementary geographies.

Founded in 2015 and headquartered in Highlands Ranch, Colorado, 3millID is a leading provider of proprietary access control readers and technology-driven products for enterprise customers across North America. Third Millennium, established in 1996 and based in Wales, specializes in access control solutions and software for enterprise and government clients in the UK and Europe, with strong in-house technology expertise. The two companies have maintained a commercial partnership since 2015, focusing on technology development and sales.

Both 3millID and Third Millennium will now be integrated into HID’s Physical Access Control Solutions Business Area, leveraging HID’s global sales and support functions to enhance their offerings.

The acquisition is subject to customary closing conditions and is expected to be finalized in the first quarter of 2025.
