Singapore – The Landscape Industry Association (Singapore), also known as LIAS, has created three new professional memberships for Horticulturist, Arborist and Playground Safety Inspectors in Singapore.
Historically, LIAS membership has been offered to corporate entities only. In line with its mission to develop and promote professionalism and quality practices in the landscape industry, LIAS sees the need to also set a benchmark for quality among the individual professionals and provide a platform for their upgrading.
Through the new membership offerings, LIAS aims to distinct competent landscape professionals from their peers and to help the individuals stay abreast with the latest knowledge and practices of the industry. The members are expected to undergo training that will help contextualise overseas credentials to local requirements, for example CPSI with CEU units and courses, which include local standards.
The offering of individual membership will also achieve synergy in activities related to the improvement of the landscape industry, while reducing efforts duplications with related associations. Collectively, these professionals will be able to lend more voice to LIAS and allow LIAS to represent the landscape industry more comprehensively.
