Hong Kong – Kerry Properties Limited has embarked on a pilot Green Lease Programme, which commenced in the third quarter of this year. This pioneering Programme, one of the first of its kind in Hong Kong, is designed to incentivise the Group’s commercial tenants to lower their energy consumption and adopt eco-friendly practices.
The Green Lease Programme operates through an in-depth collaboration with the Group’s office tenant at Enterprise Square Five. As part of the Green Lease Programme, energy meters are installed in participating leased premises to monitor energy usage and efficiency, which includes air-conditioning and water consumption. Tenants who successfully reduce their energy consumption will be offered monetary incentives. The Green Lease Programme has been met with affirmative support and positive feedback from the tenant since its inception.
The Green Lease Programme is designed to encourage the Group’s commercial tenants to optimise their energy use and minimise their carbon footprint within their operations, particularly in reducing Scope 3 carbon emissions. It is set to gradually extend to a broader participation within the Group’s commercial tenants across Hong Kong and the Mainland.
Guided by the principles of its Vision 2030 sustainability strategy, Kerry Properties has established an array of short-, mid- and long-term carbon reduction targets, and is actively engaging with stakeholders on its path towards carbon neutrality.
