Singapore – COSEM, the co-operative of the Singapore Civil Defence Force (SCDF), specialises in providing services, consultancy and training in emergency preparedness, response and recovery.
Its business footprint spans from Europe, across the Middle East, and most of Asia. Leveraging its deep expertise in disaster management and emergency response, COSEM will be organising the inaugural SIDEX 2025 from 19 to 21 November 2025 at the Singapore Expo. With the SCDF as its strategic partner, this mega three-day conference and exhibition event is poised to be the largest professional show in the Asia-Pacific region on disaster management and emergency response.
With a poignant theme of “Ready Today, Resilient Tomorrow”, SIDEX 2025 will feature an impressive line-up of international speakers and session panellists sharing on three sub-themes of: (1) Civil Protection & Safety, (2) Emergency Preparedness & Response, and (3) Disaster Management & Humanitarian Response. SIDEX 2025 aims to bring together experts from the academia, emergency services, researchers as well as industry specialists, to exchange views and best practices, and share knowledge that can help elevate the level of disaster preparedness, capability, and safety for emergency responders. The event is expected to attract over 400 conference delegates, some 300 exhibitors and thousands of trade visitors.
The inaugural SIDEX 2025 was officially launched by COSEM and graced by Guest-of-Honour, Mr Zhulkarnain Abdul Rahim, Chairperson, Government Parliamentary Committee for Home Affairs and Law, on 4 July 2024 at Parkroyal Collection Marina Bay.
During the opening address, Mr Michael Chua, Chief Executive, COSEM thanked the government and knowledge partners of the inaugural SIDEX 2025 for their support which will certainly elevate the prestige and significance of the event. He stated, “COSEM is privileged to have received strong partnership support for SIDEX 2025 from esteemed government organisations, academic institutions, and trade associations from various countries. To date, we have altogether 17 partners and counting.”
Other key highlights of the official launch include:
i. The attendance of dignitaries from overseas as well as various Embassies and High Commissions. These include Mr Andy Yeung, Director of Hong Kong Fire Services Department, Mr Lam Chon Sang, Deputy Commissioner of Macau Fire Services Bureau, Professor Richard Wells, Deputy Vice-Chancellor of Coventry University, His Excellency Saoud Jassim Al-Jufairi of Qatar Embassy, His Excellency Medardo Antonio Gonzales Macaraig of Philippines Embassy and Her Excellency Ureerat Chareontoh of Thailand Embassy.
ii. An appreciation ceremony for the sponsors of SIDEX 2025. The ceremony acknowledged the generous and overwhelming support COSEM received from its sponsors, demonstrating the high regard in which the inaugural SIDEX 2025 is held.
