Euro Auctions will conduct its largest mobile crane auction on Friday 3 March 2017, at Newark Showground, Lincoln Road, Newark-on-Trent, Nottinghamshire, in the UK. The event is believed to be the largest single global sale of mobile cranes in the world, featuring 130 Hewden cranes (35- to 220-t all terrain and city cranes) along with more than 500 significant lots of general construction equipment.

“This will be the single largest collection of used mobile cranes ever assembled for sale in one place, anywhere in world,” said Jonnie Keys, operations manager for Euro Auctions. “Phenomenal interest is being generated by this auction within the industry from right around the globe as all the cranes have been maintained in A1 condition and many have exceptionally low hours and come with some manufacturers’ warrantee.”

Among the highlights of the items to be auctioned are two 220-t Tadano all terrain cranes featuring a 68-m main boom, an 11.1-m boom extension and a 76-m maximum lift height, as well as 23 other over-100-t cranes, most of which are low hours, only a few years old and offer various radius and maximum lift heights. Plus, there will be 57 cranes in the 50- to 100-t class and more than 45 units in the 30- to 50-t general purpose category. The crane sale will also include a host of accessories, such as ballast, test weights, slings, mats, chains and shackles.

“The combination of an exceptional fleet of equipment, targeted marketing to our global network, and our reputation for fair and transparent auctions will ensure there is a good crowd in attendance on the day with many more closely following the sale online,” said Mr Keys. “We are beginning to register interest from bidders from every continent, including the biggest crane buyers in the industry and bidder interest is already brisk. This will be the biggest sale in crane history.”

Euro Auctions was appointed by SJ Woodward and CP Dempster of Ernst & Young LLP, the Joint Administrators, to dispose of the cranes and general construction equipment assets of HS Realisations Ltd (previously known as Hewden Stuart Ltd).

Euro Auctions has been conducting unreserved auctions of industrial plant, construction equipment and agricultural machinery since 1998 and in 2017 will conduct over 40 major auctions around the globe, in six countries and on three continents. Headquartered in Tyrone, Northern Ireland, it has seven more permanent auction sites in England, Germany, Spain, Australia and USA. The company also specialises in off-site sales for leading plant hire companies, for cessation of trading, retirement sales as well as stock and fleet rotation.

In December 2016, Euro Auctions acquired Yoder & Frey Auctioneers Inc, the American auction giant that has been serving the needs of heavy construction equipment buyers and sellers since 1964. Specialising in the sale of used heavy construction equipment, trucks and trailers its corporate office is located in Holland, Ohio with additional auction facilities at Darlington, Pennsylvania as well as holding the now world famous spring winter auction sale in Kissimmee, Florida each February.
