Vietnamese contractor Sol E&C has begun construction on a premium mixed-use complex in the Ben Thanh Quadrant precinct of Ho Chi Minh City. Developed by Masterise Homes, the project will feature a shopping mall, offices, residences and an international six-star hotel. It is anchored by two towers rising 47 and 56 floors, with an overall height of 235 m, and six basement levels.
For this mixed-use complex, Sol E&C has been appointed as the general contractor for the 56-floor tower, while the 47-floor tower will be built by another contractor, Newtecons. According to Sol E&C, the project’s scale and dense central location require rigorous safety controls and involve a high level of technical and execution complexity.
The project includes approximately 3,000 t of structural steel, as well as a range of specialised systems such as outriggers, cantilevers, trusses and a reinforced core, demanding exceptional accuracy in design, fabrication and erection, said Sol E&C. The contractor added that key structural elements will utilise high-strength concrete to meet the stringent performance requirements of a supertall building.
In another development, Sol E&C has begun construction on the high-rise zones of the Blanca City coastal urban area in Ho Chi Minh City’s Rach Dua Ward. Developed by Sun Group, the project spans 96.6 ha and, upon completion, is expected to become one of the largest master-planned urban developments in the city and the southern region.
The high-rise zones of Blanca City comprise 14 buildings. Sol E&C will serve as the general contractor for seven of them, while the remaining seven will be built by two other contractors, Newtecons and Ricons. Simultaneously, Sol E&C is also working on the project’s low-rise zones.
